Overview
The Law, Literature and Society Teacher Institute is designed to provide language arts, social studies and other teachers with an
understanding of the interrelationship of laws, literature and societal values. Funded by the New Jersey State Bar
Foundation and in conjunction with the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, this week-long summer institute was offered to
teachers in grades 4-8 in July 1999. It was offered to teachers of middle and high school grades in July 2002, and will be
offered again in the summer of 2006. Lessons and in-service workshops focused on law and literature connections are
available for interested school districts.
Twenty interdisciplinary lessons for grades 4-12 can be found by clicking the "Lessons" button on the left.
