Using Mail Merge to Send Ballot Access Codes
For those districts choosing to vote digitally, the distribution of codes can be done several ways. Each teacher can register their class and share the anonymous codes with students. Other districts choose to have the supervisor register all of the classes and distribute the codes to students. For some districts, this could mean thousands of codes, but despair not, it’s really quite easy. Steve Maher, Social Studies Supervisor for the Chatham Public Schools, has provided the following video instructions. It will only take about 15-20 minutes to distribute all of the codes. If your district uses Genesis and Gmail, these directions will show you how to do it.
The New Jersey Student Mock Election carefully guards the privacy of students. No personal information is collected. The codes are anonymous and randomly generated.
