The New Jersey Center for Civic Education offers teachers of grades 4-12 the opportunity to engage their students in the annual NJ Student Mock Election.
This free, nonpartisan program is designed to help your students practice the habit of being informed voters in every election.
The New Jersey Center for Civic Education sponsors an annual We the People: the Citizen and the Constitution Competition for New Jersey High Schools. This year's competition will be held at the Busch Campus Student Center at Rutgers University on January 27, 2027. Students act as expert witnesses and "testify" their constitutional knowledge in the format of simulated congressional hearings. A volunteer judging panel composed of community experts will hear the students present, ask follow-up questions, and offer feedback. Registration and participation are free. Please plan ahead to arrange for transportation to the event with your building or district administration.
